Michael Wagner received his education from Morehead State, and spent the next 27 years teaching visual arts at Maysville and Mason County Schools. He is currently retired, and spends his time in his studio, painting the aged structures found in old towns and farms around Kentucky. His paintings take you back in time, reliving the places and activities of childhood.
All of Michael's original oil paintings are framed in old barnwood, that he makes himself, adding another layer of nostalgia to his paintings. The wood Michael uses to frame his work in, comes from his father's old corn crib. The corn crib was built, some 59 years ago, by Michael's parents. His mother just so happened to be pregnant with Michael at the time!
