I have been involved in horse racing for over thirty years. My experience stretches the gamut from hotwalker to racing official. After receiving a B.F.A. in painting from Swain School of Design in Massachusetts, my husband, trainer Michael Bray and I traveled the country with his racing stable. We eventually settled in Ocala, Florida in 1999.
Because of my extensive involvement in all aspects of racing, I feel that my artwork is "from the trenches". I strive to "express the subtle with an undercurrent of volatility" which can only result from an intimate knowledge of the emotional anguish and exhilaration shared by all those who love horse racing. My artwork is exhibited in numerous galleries, arts councils and racing centers on both coasts. I have a long list of private and public collectors including those abroad in Italy, England and Japan, and I hold an equally long list of important commissions.
I have illustrated a children's story, book covers, designed logos and executed various mural projects throughout the country. I am currently illustrating a children's book of horse related riddles.
I am represented by The Paddock Room Galleries in Ocala, Florida; Soave Faire in Saratoga Springs, New York; Fayette Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky; and Equine Divine in Aiken, South Carolina.
