"Cimmaron Hills" was painted from one of Milbies photographs of an area in Williamson County, near Austin Texas.  Milbie captured this area with perfect timing: this picturesque landscape now features a golf course.

 

When I first saw this, I wondered what area of Kentucky it represented.  Finding out it is, actually, near Austin, TX was not surprising, however.  I remember thinking Austin reminded me a great deal of Kentucky, the first time I visited.
