Giacomo - 2005 Kentucky Derby Winner
Giacomo had a big upset that shocked racing with the biggest payoff at the Derby in 92 years!
Foaled at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington, Kentucky, Giacomo was at 50:1 odds at the Derby - the 2nd biggest longshot ever to win the Derby since 1913.
Jockey Mike Smith rode both Giacomo to glory, as well as his sire, Holy Bull in 1994.
Owner, Jerry Moss and co-founder of A&M Records, received a 1st place check of $1,639,600 for the Derby win - the largest in Kentucky Derby history.
Giacomo was named after the son of Sting, recording artist for A&M as a solo and with the group "The Police".
